I had a dream when I was a child. I decided that once in my life it would be for sureú
I will come to America to be there in those locations that I have always seen on TV, obviously I dreamed that I would set foot on American soil as a healthy person.
Unfortunately, due to my accident on March 25, 2007, this could only be achieved on four wheels, but anyone who knows me knows that this does not stop me from achieving my dreams at all.
That's why I decided in 2015 to start collecting and if it breaks, in 2018 I will go to America with my family. This happened!
Then let's start at the beginning! I booked everything online, I didn't use a travel agency, I planned our 16 days abroad on my own.
The day of the trip arrived, and one of my dear friends, András Szokodi, helped us by taking us to the airport and storing our car.
Well then, let's get into it. We arrived at the airport, we went to the terminal where we could have started checking in. After half an hour and an hour later, nothing was opened anywhere, we started asking what the problem could be, and suddenly they complained that the plane we were going to take to New York didn't even take off because of some kind of storm. Here we are. I was on the verge of crying and laughing that this could only happen to us. Then, of course, we started looking for a solution to this problem, which ended up being that the next morning we would be traveling on a completely different plane than the one I had booked in advance and for which I had paid the seat tickets so that we would be as close as possible to the door.
Never mind about that later...
We were accommodated in a hotel in Pest, where we received all-day care plus breakfast the next morning, after which we arrived again at the terminal where we checked in and started our journey on the first plane to Frankfurt and from there to Los Angeles.
Our whole trip there was about nothing but hurrying, because the airlines simply say that they are prepared to transport passengers in this condition, but somehow they are not. There were no problems on the first plane, so to speak, they put me in the seat without any problems and we arrived in Frankfurt. There, for some strange reason, they forgot to come for me to take me out of the chair, the cleaners even got off the plane, but they just reassured me that the plane to Los Angeles would not take off without me. I say it's fine, I believe you, but specifically, the plane leaves in 5 minutes and you have to go to the other side of the airport. Then they arrived, unloaded, and the race through the entire airport, based on the image of the movie The Deadly Pace, began. In particular, the lady who came to pick me up pushed so fast that it was a breeze. The moms lost three kilos by the time we got to the other plane. It was here that I realized that everyone was already inside the plane and they told me that our ticket was for row 24. I wondered how it would turn out, but it was resolved. They put me in the chair and I sat there for 10 hours. I don't need to say how comfortable it was, especially knowing that the night before we left for Pest, the window was accidentally left open for the night and my bladder probably got inflamed as a result of which the water was constantly beating and as a result, I sweated out whatever liquid I drank for 10 hours. I didn't pee. So I wasn't really compatible with a happy person, but unlimited whiskey and cola was a cure-all.
Then we reached the climax of our trip, we arrived in Los Angeles, but somehow they didn't really want to come for me to take me off the plane, and when finally after 30 minutes of waiting, the mentioned people came in the person of a 60-year-old Mexican man and a 30-year-old petite woman, I assumed the question in myself:
How will these two people get an 85 kg completely paralyzed person out of the chair?
Needless to say, the gentleman tried twice, both times I almost passed out, but somehow they just pulled me out of the chair and somehow we finally got out of the plane with a slight fear of death. The border crossing went surprisingly quickly in the company of an officer who was bored to death.
The little voice in my head came:
We arrived ! We are here !
After that, we went to get our pre-booked car from home and then arrived at our accommodation.
Unfortunately, after I laid down on the bed after the long journey, mom noticed that there is a very large purple spot on the back of my left thigh, this probably occurred when the above-mentioned catch people pulled me out of the seat or something pushed me during the long trip, this will never be revealed. The point is that we were there and our 16 days in America began.
We were enriched with so many new experiences that I will not describe this in detail here because it would be worth a separate book, so I will summarize it briefly.
Within Los Angeles, we went to the Hollywood sign on Hollywood Boulevard, which luckily was close to us, we were on Venice beach, we went to Santa Monica and saw the famous Santa Monica Pier, meanwhile I felt as if I had fallen into the into a game called GTA V. We went to Universal Studios, Disneyland and Madame Tussauds. we visited Las Vegas and celebrated the 4th of July there together with my mother's birthday, we visited San Diego where we went to Sea World and I was able to make my mother's biggest dream come true to swim with dolphins. Swimming starts at 0:54.
So it was an unforgettable experience for all of us and even now we look back on it like that
That we were really in America?
it's all so incredible.
